A single flower fills the canvas.

The lines of the petals, the transition from yellow-green to cream.

A delicate yet bold brush stroke.

Until then, flowers had never been depicted in this way.

Flowers in a vase as a still life, colorful flowers blooming at the feet of a nude woman.

On her canvases, skulls that have finished their lives are sometimes depicted on a par with flowers.

Even when she took pictures of herself, she expressed herself like a flower or a skull.

Her dignified, straight-backed gaze into the distance overlaps with the gaze of the flowers

and skulls staring back at her from the canvas.

Yabyum’s 2024 Spring/Summer is a quiet yet firm look at the beginning of a new era.

We begin by stretching our backs in an effort to overcome the turmoil and tragedy of the past.

A layer of quiet cream and black.

From fabrics woven using modern techniques to fabrics with a traditional feel.

The use of graphically moving textiles with bold polka dots and intersecting stripes.

Yabyum’s 2024ss wants to be quietly, boldly, and powerfully.

一輪の花がキャンバスいっぱいに描かれている。

花びらの筋、黄緑からクリーム色に変わる境目。

繊細に大胆な筆のタッチ。

それまで花はそのような表現で描かれることはなかった 。

静物として花瓶にささる花、色とりどりに裸婦の足元に咲き誇る花。

彼女のキャンバスには生を終えた頭蓋も花と同等に描かれることもある。

彼女は自身が写真に収まる時も、花や頭蓋の様に自分を表現した。

凛とし背筋の伸びた遠くへの眼差しはキャンバスから花や頭蓋がこちらを見つめてくる視線と重なる。

ヤブヤム2024春夏は新しい時代の始まる静かながら堅固な眼差しから、

過去の喧騒と悲劇を乗り越えようと背筋を伸ばす動作からはじめる。

静かなクリームと黒のレイヤー。 時代の技術から織られた生地から昔からの肌触りの生地まで。

大胆な水玉と、ストライプが交差するグラフィカルな動きのあるテキスタル使い。

静かに大胆に力強くありたいと思うヤブヤム2024春夏
